Donaire (31-1, 20 KO) won pretty much every notable Fighter of the Year award for 2012, including our own, while Rigondeaux (11-0, 8 KO) has been one of two fighters that fans have consistently wanted to see match skills with the Filipino over the last year or so, since Donaire moved up to 122 pounds. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is enthusiastic about placing the Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez fifth fight inside a new arena in Mexico City, Mexico. The arena holds 18,000 and Arum believes it’s an ideal location for the Pacquiao-Marquez fight to take place. He expects Americans to come and watch the Pacquiao-Marquez fight, but it’s going to be real test to see if that happens.

Shane Mosley looks headed for an undeserved WBA welterweight title fight with Paulie Malignaggi on April 27 in Brooklyn, and says that he won’t be trained for the fight — or any other that might come up — by Naazim Richardson, but instead by his father and former trainer, Jack Mosley.

“I’m going to train with my father for this fight. Naazim is very good and I have a lot of respect for Naazim and his training work but this time I believe, going into this and coming back its legacy. My father, me, my son, its legacy. It’s something that I believe that has to be done.”
